Taylors Inn Bed and Breakfast is located within San Joses Barrio Amon, a National Heritage area recognized for its architectural and cultural value to Costa Rica. Taylors Inn was originally constructed as a home in 1908 by an Italian, Adriano Arie Vaselli. The structures notable features include brickwork and wrought iron detailing as well as a beautiful central patio, which is surrounded by rooms. In 1918 Senor Arie rented the house to then Minister of Education Don Miguel Obregon Lizano who also won the National Citizen Merit Award for 70 colones per month. Minister Obregon was enchanted by the lovely home and purchased it for 9,000 colones... generations of the Obregon family lived here until 1995. In 1996, this historic home was purchased by Senor Jorge Taylor. Experienced in the tourist industry and inspired by the idea of bed and breakfasts, Senor Taylor decided to rename and remodel this historic structure, while converting it into a small hotel. Taylors Inn Bed and Breakfast now opens its door to the traveling public, who wish to relax in comfort while exploring San Joses city treasures.
